In the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, the Foundation focuses grants in the areas of youth nutrition and fitness, social services, education and arts and culture. Beyond financial resources, we also support organizations with volunteers and mentors who share their expertise and talents.

Timeline for the fiscal 2009 General Mills Twin Cities Grants program:

The General Mills Twin Cities Grants program has moved to an online grant application process. Paper copies will no longer be accepted from grantees serving the Twin Cities Seven-County Metro Area; Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington.

The General Mills Foundation follows a fiscal year beginning June 1 and ending May 31. Timeline for our fiscal year 2009 (June 1, 2008 – May 31, 2009) funding cycle:

Paper Application Accepted June 1 - January 1, 2009
Online Application Available & Accepted December 3, 2008
Online Applications Due at 5:00 p.m. April 1, 2009
Online Application Closed at 5:01 p.m. April 1, 2009

Grant applications are reviewed on an on-going basis from June 1 – April 1. The Foundation will communicate funding decisions on grant applications submitted via the online process within 60 days from submission of request.

The online application for our fiscal year 2010 will be posted on this website on June 1, 2009.
